To kick start our new topic on Sir David Attenborough, the children were transported using VR headsets to the magical places he has visited. They explored different continents, countries and habitats, discovering how animals have adapted to survive in their environments. From icy landscapes to lush rainforests, the experience brought their learning to life in a truly exciting way. It was a fantastic opportunity for the children to deepen their understanding and spark curiosity about the natural world.
Plants- Science in Action
As part of our science topic on plants, the children took part in a practical activity where they dissected a plant to identify its different parts. During the lesson, the children discussed how plants grow and what they need to stay healthy. They learned that roots absorb water and nutrients from the soil, the stem supports the plant and carries water to different parts, and the leaves help the plant make food. They also looked closely at the flower, identifying the sepal, petal, stamen and pistil using clear, scientific language. It was a fantastic opportunity to observe nature carefully.
