During the summer holidays, Year 4 engaged in a home project connected to their new topic, "Where Does Our Food Come From?" The children collaborated with their parents and carers to create impressive farm models. Here is a selection of their fantastic work. Congratulations to all the children, parents, carers, and siblings who participated in this rewarding initiative.
Year 4 Polling Day
As part of our commitment to British values, our children engaged in an enriching democratic process by running for class councillor and voting for their nominees. Each child crafted a manifesto detailing their suitability for the role, highlighting their unique qualities and proposed positive changes for our school. Following the preparation of speeches, four candidates were selected to represent their class. A polling station was established in the hall, allowing every child to participate in the election of their class representative, fostering a sense of responsibility and community engagement.
British Museum
In Year 4, our studies have centred on early civilisations, with particular emphasis on Ancient Egypt and the Shang Dynasty. To enhance this learning, we organised a visit to the British Museum, where children had the invaluable opportunity to explore a variety of artefacts directly related to their classroom topics. This real-life experience allowed the children to engage with history in a tangible way, deepening their understanding of these fascinating cultures.
