Classroom Learning

Science Plant Investigation

Year 3 participated in a practical science lesson centred around the dissection of plants to identify their various parts. This hands-on experience not only facilitated the children’s understanding of botanical structures but also prompted stimulating discussions. Through the use of scientific language and reasoning skills, the children engaged in higher-order thinking questions, thereby enhancing their learning experience.

Children's Rights-PSHE

This term, Year 3 children have engaged in an enlightening exploration of children's rights. They have creatively expressed their perspectives by designing posters that highlight what they consider most significant, fostering a deeper understanding of their rights and responsibilities.

Trash to Treasure

As part of our Skills Builder unit, children collaborate in teams to design and construct a new toy using recycled materials. Through this engaging project, they acquire valuable skills by conducting research, finalising their designs, manufacturing prototypes, and pitching their creations, all while considering the environmental impact of their innovations. Each stage of the process emphasises different competencies, such as leadership, speaking and listening, and creativity. The children demonstrated remarkable teamwork, leading to outstanding final outcomes that truly showcased their efforts and ingenuity.
