Beyond The Classroom

Chessington World of Adventures

As a reward for all of their hard work this year, the Year 6 cohort were invited to spend the day at Chessington World of Adventures. They were all extremely excited as they stepped onto the coaches ready to go. Arriving as soon as the gates opened, they were able to spend the whole day on thrill-seeking rides with their teachers and parent helpers. From the incredibly fast Mandrill Mayhem, to the slow and sedate Gruffalo Ride, there was something for everyone!

The Brilliant Club Graduation

Some of our Year 6 children took part in The Scholars Programme (also known as the Brilliant Club) over the course of the Spring Term, culminating in their graduation at the beginning of the summer term. The programme involved pupils attending a series of tutorials with a PhD tutor, and submitting an assignment which was graded as a university assignment would be.

As part of the graduation, we were invited to Royal Holloway University of London to have a tour, take part in some exciting activities and receive certificates for our participation in the programme. We were astounded by the beauty and grandeur of this prestigious university and many of the children expressed an interest in attending university once they have finished school.
