Beyond The Classroom

Swimming

The Year 4 children expressed great enthusiasm for their swimming sessions at the London Aquatic Centre. Witnessing notable progress, all children honed essential swimming skills within the designated timeframe. Furthermore, the children bolstered their water confidence and exhibited remarkable resilience in their pursuit of improvement. Eager to continue cultivating these abilities in Year 6, the children are poised for further advancement in their aquatic endeavours.

Childhood Day Mile

Year 4 recently participated in Childhood Day Mile, a national initiative aimed at increasing awareness of the NSPCC and promoting child safety. The event challenged the children to run a mile, encouraging them to demonstrate their determination and resilience. It provided a valuable opportunity for the children to showcase their commitment to supporting a worthy cause while embracing physical challenges. The involvement in Childhood Day Mile reflects our school's dedication to nurturing well-rounded individuals who are socially conscious and proactive in contributing to the community's welfare.

Crime Scene

Year 4 recently participated in the whole school Skills Builder Day, where they engaged in a variety of activities to enhance their skills. The children collaborated in groups, honing skills such as teamwork, communication, and presentation. Their challenge was to solve a mystery surrounding a break-in at the school kitchen, where the stolen chocolate had left the cook unable to prepare the dessert. By investigating the crime scene, interviewing witnesses, analysing evidence like fingerprints and footprints, the children compiled a detailed report identifying the prime suspect. This immersive experience not only fostered skill development but also promoted teamwork in an enjoyable and engaging manner.
