Beyond The Classroom

On Wednesday 19th September the children in year 1 took part in a local area walk.  This visit was linked to their autumn term 1 topic: We Love Newham. During their local area walk the children had the opportunity to visit local landmarks such as Manor Park Library, Tesco Express, Woodgrange, and Manor Park stations, as well as other local sights.  The children took notes and sketched pictures of what they could see. 

This visit gave the children the opportunity to develop geographical skills such as: observing their local area, naming key landmarks and discussing a range of human environments.
